Reviews
Just received my copy of this music book and have spent a couple of delicious hours at the piano playing through a number of the selections. Already a fan of Dan Coates, this did not disappoint. There are 76 songs here with enough variety to please most. My favorite arrangements were for Wind Beneath My Wings, I Will Always Love You, Open Arms, Send In The Clowns and Over The Rainbow ... but I will probably feel more love as I play through others. I love the way the notes flow and fit under my fingers as I play. I am always disappointed when the Table of Contents is not made a part of the description of a music book, so I am listing them under the four categories as they are listed on the back of the book: POPULAR FAVORITES: Always; Always and Forever; Angel Eyes; Because You Loved Me; Count On Me; Desperado; Dreaming Of You; Exhale; From A Distance; The Greatest Love Of All; Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman?; (Everything I Do) I Do It For You; I Just Called To Say I Love You; I'd Lie For You (And That's The Truth); More Than Words; One Of Us; Open Arms; Reach; The Rose; Stairway To Heaven; The Sweetest Days; Tears In Heaven; The Wind Beneath My Wings; You Are Not Alone; You'll See \\\ COUNTRY HITS: Angels Among Us; The Dance; Go Rest High On That Mountain; I Can Love You Like That; I Can't Stop Loving You; I Cross My Heart; I Love The Way You Love Me; I Swear; I Will Always Love You; If Tomorrow Never Comes; In This Life; The Keeper Of The Stars; One Friend; The River; Singing The Blues; A Thousand Miles From Nowhere; To Me; Unanswered Prayers; The Vows Go Unbroken (Always True To You); Your Cheatin' Heart; Your Love Amazes Me \\\ MOVIE HITS: I'll Remember; Lane's Theme; Over The Rainbow; Pachelbel Canon in D; Send In The Clowns; Separate Lives; Theme From "Love Affair"; Theme From New York New York; (I've Had) The Time Of My Life; Tomorrow; Two Hearts; Up Where We Belong; We're Off To See The Wizard; Will You Be There \\\TV THEMES: Ashokan Farewell; Beverly Hills, 90210 (Main Theme); I'll Be There For You; Jeopardy Theme; L.A. Law (Main Title Theme); Linus And Lucy; Love And Marriage; The Masterpiece; The Pink Panther; Song From M*A*S*H (Suicide Is Painless); Thank God For A Friend Like You; Theme From Chicago Hope; Theme From Inspector Gadget; Theme From "Murder One"; Theme From "Picket Fences"; Theme From "The Simpsons."Some reviewers have mentioned that it's difficult to keep this book open while playing. Yes, as is true of many larger compilations, that is true. I've found it useful to use some stiff cardboard, plywood, thin cutting board or other such material to place on my music rack, then attach both sides of book with large clips. It doesn't look pretty, and you still have to loosen the clips to turn pages, but this combination of fixes does work.I hope you enjoy this music as much as I have already.
