Reviews
My many years of piano lessons ended up with this book and after years of getting way out of practice I decided to get another copy and work through it again. There are some very nice pieces in it -- I especially enjoy the piano arrangements of the Second Movement from Beethoven's 5th, My Heart at Thy Sweet Voice aria from Samson and Delilah, Strauss's Artist's Life Waltz. These are ones you don't see for piano every day and they are well arranged.I learned how to play with the very first John Thompson book, Teaching Little Fingers To Play, and always enjoyed his method. This book ends with Beethoven's Piano Sonata in F minor, which takes some practice but is attainable for me and I am an intermediate player, i.e., I never made it to John Thompson's fifth grade book. Heck, we can't all be Ashkenazys or Cliburns. Just keep on playing.
