Reviews
First off, I have to say how gorgeous these books are. The art is fantastic and the commentary by the various characters is really fun. Seriously one of the best looking Star Wars books that I have ever owned. So why am I only giving it three stars? Because these books do not fall under the new canon, but fall under the Legends banner. For many this may not be a big deal, but for me it is pretty depressing reading all of this great lore knowing that it’s not “official.” For example, there are discrepincies in the Sith book when it discusses why lightsabers are red and Darth Bane’s origin as the new canon made changes to the lore in these areas. That said, the books do reference the Clone Wars cartoons so at least there’s that. Honestly, if I would have known that these fell under the Legends banner I would have skipped them. All in all, if you are looking for a great looking set of books with beautiful art then this is for you. If you are looking for a set of books that add more insight to the Star Wars lore through the lens of important characters then you should probably look somewhere else.
